Use reliable measurements and declared values so the estimate reflects the expected package.

Measure the packed shipment

Use the outside length, width, and height of the final packaging. Product-page measurements may describe only the item and not the shipping box.

Use realistic weight and value

Include packaging in the weight estimate and use the actual purchase price or supportable fair value for the declared amount.

  • Confirm the measurement units.
  • Do not confuse item quantity with package count.
  • Keep receipts or invoices that support the value.
