Support value, origin, and classification

Use accurate purchase values, country of origin, receipts, and classification information when required.

Declare the actual transaction value

Use the amount actually paid or a supportable fair value. Artificially low values can cause delays, reassessment, penalties, coverage problems, or seizure.

Origin is where the product was made

Country of origin is not always the country where the retailer or warehouse is located. Use labels, invoices, manufacturer information, or reliable product documentation.

Keep the retailer invoice or receipt.
Do not guess a tariff classification when uncertain.
Respond promptly when additional customs evidence is requested.
